hi all,
i am trying to insert date into database form a text box as '12-Jan-205' and i am getting the year inserted as '12-Jan-2005' and when i give the date as '12-jan-25' it is inserting as '12-jan-2025' and when i insert as '12-jan-200' it is inserting as '12-jan-2000' how can i get the exact date entry before i insert.

set format mask option in property pallate as
dd-mm-yyyy

i dont thing there is any way in oracle by which u can enter date as '12-Jan-205' at list i dont know my be Himanshu (GRATE PROGGRMER + PERSON) will come and ans. your query
i can suggest u one thing...

instade of keeping that field as date (in your database) keep it as text field so that u can enter anything in the way u want..
