Hi

I installed oracle 8.1.7 on WIN2K (with SP2) active server. Installation went through fine. tnsping to the DB works fine. But when trying connect to database using SQL or svrmgrl it gives "end of communication channel"  error and forms <SID>core.log file.

 

Can somebody help me how to resolve this issue.

just restart ur database and connect as sysdba
