I have OMS 5.2.0.0.0 and 8.1.7 residing on 2 seperate servers. I am planning to shutdown 8.1.7 and perform a backup on that server. My question is, will this have any adverse effect on OMS when I bring up 8.1.7 again? Do you foresee any issues/problems that may arise from performing this shutdown? Please advise. Your assistance is appreciated! Thanks!

Hi,

What is the connection between your OMS instance and the database? If your OMS repository is in that database, OMS will not function anymore. Otherwise, it should be OK.

Best regards.

The connection between the OMS instance and the database is JDBC. The OMS repository resides on a separate server than the database server. The database server is the one we are backing up.
