Hi......

After i created a controlfile by CREATE CONTROLFILE statment and open DATABASE by NORESETLOGS option is still can i recover a datafile completly from backup taken before time of creation of controlfile?

i got this error every time :
ORA-00283: recovery session canceled due to errors
ORA-16067: activation identifier mismatch in archive log DB5046.ARC

- i'm sure i gave the correct archive file.
- after creation of controlfile if you check V$ARCHIVED_LOG it will contain information about archived online logs which are not overwriten yet only and a damaged datafile need older archive log to recover it. maybe because this....

thank you
