Hello,

I'm trying from a client machine to connect to 2 different databases on 2 different servers using the same SID. Only one connection is successful.

Both Servers are Oracle Server7.3.4. the client is Oracle 8.1.7.

Is there any special considerations other than the usual configuration (single server/ database/ instance)?

Thanks.

nope.
as long as u have a distinct entry (tnsservicename) in tnsnames.ora
and have specificied the correct values for sid, host and port, there is should be no specicial considerations.
