I could not delete a database link and I am getting the following message. Could you please help me ?

I am using oracle 9i DBMS. 

VBO-4542 Cannot remove DB link ORA-02024
database link not found.

1. make sure u use the right link name.
2. the db link might be a public database link.
try

drop public database link link_name;
