Hi,

The oraInventory directory contains a registry of all Oracle products installed on your system; as well as log files for each installation; and a couple of other less important things.

On Windows systems the "inst_loc" entry in registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREORACLE points to your oraInventory directory.

On Unix systems the "oraInst.loc" file, usually located in your /var/opt/oracle or /etc directories, contains a pointer (inventory_loc=) to your oraInventory directory.

Best regards.

Frank

Hi,

The Install Guide (on the installation media - first CD) is quite good. Try to follow it an let us know if you run into problems.

Best regards.
