Hi,
When I try to install Oracle 8.0.5 on 9.0.2 the installer is automatically finding C:OracleOra92.
This is what I see in the installer window

Name: OraHome92
Location C:OracleOra92 and the location is greyed out.
I have 3 disks on my machine and I want to install
8.0.5 on the D drive but it is not allowing me to do that.
I shutdown 9i completely and stopped every service in Services and tried to rename the C:Oracle to something like C:XYZ_Oracle but it is not allowing me to rename the folder too.

Any ideas?

Thanx

Scott

Havent encountered this problem before, becos usually the older version(in this case 8.0.5) is installed first and then the newer versions.

You could try a couple of things
1. Set(or Create) your DEFAULT ORACLE_HOME in the registry to D:OracleOra8
2.Install 8.0.5 using the installer that came with 8.0.5 and not Universal installer.
