Hi all,
Migration question : from win to unix

I have a database on windows system, and I want to migrate to unix.

Say we talk about the same release on two environments,

- Generate a orclwin.dmp with export command on windows system
- ftp the orcl.dmp file from windows to Unix
- import orclwin to orclunx database

Is that write ?

Thanks

Right, just make sure to use the same RECORDLENGTH parameter in both exp and imp.
Also try to retain the same NLS_LANG environmental variable on both sides.
Ftp in binary mode.
These are in addition to other things like tablespace space, privileges etc..
