Hi,
Recently one of our filers crashed and few databases went down. The weird thing is that, some of our Oracle databases are on Oracle 9i and the archive logs are written to multiple locations. In spite of that, when the filer went down (even though one of those locations were not available) it started given the following error during our exports on sunday. Why does it give such error, if the archive logs has multiple destinations to keep writing???

Filesystem kbytes used avail capacity Mounted on
fs1:/vol/vol5/pool5/dbsdta32 124878792 124739656 139136 100% /opt/dbsdta32
You have ten seconds to abort this operation. Press Cltrl-C to stop now.

Roy,
you have several possibilities :
maybe the archivelog destination on the filer was defined MANDATORY or
maybe the ARchiver was not able to fullfill LOG_ARCHIVE_MIN_SUCCEED_DEST number of destinations becos of 1 or more filesystem failures or
maybe you defined all destinations to be MANDATORY and you had multiple failures

Check your LOG_ARCHIVE* parameters and adjust them to cater for failures(ie change anysome to OPTIONAL, decrease LOG_ARCHIVE_MIN_SUCCEED_DEST etc ). You know the environment better .
