Hallo,
I've got the following problem:
We have a partitioned table in our database. We've now wanted to create a local index, but we've got the following error-message:
ORA-00439: Funktion nicht aktiviert: Partitioning
(function not enabled)
The query of v$Option has the result:
partitioning=FALSE
BUT, I can create a new partition on my table.

So, can someone help me?

Was partitioning installed when Oracle was installed ?Only Ent. Ed. has partitions option available.

I get something like this when I start SqlPlus becoz I have installed 9.2.0 EE with part option

Connected to:
Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning option
JServer Release 9.2.0.3.0 - Production

Good luck.
