Hi,
We have installed Oracle 8i client on Win 2k Professional machine and MS Windows 98 & when we try connecting to an Oracle DB on the network on either of the machines, we are getting ORA-12545 error. We verified Listener.ora & TNSnames.ora files; both on the client & on the server machines & there seems to be no mistakes. Also, we are able to successfully ping the host (both by IP & by Name) by "Ping" and "TNSPing".
Surprisingly, there is another error noticed when connecting to SQLW on the server machine (It has two network cards); The Logon credentials entered doesnt connect the first time & gives error ORA-12637 packet receive fail. But the same credentials entered again works fine. Does this have some relation to my problem stated earlier? If so please suggest remidies.
