I have got a client-server application both written in Java. My problem is my server (which connects to my Oracle DB) often looses its session to the database. I've tried making it failsafe by providing a thread that checks if it is still 'on-line' and recreates the session if it's lost, yet it still looses it. Can someone help?

what kind of a failure?
is your connection pooling in java is failed
or the
database listener?
increase the value of CONNECT_TIMEOUT_< listener_name >
in the listener.ora
