When i try to alter my table i got this error ora-04021, I am running Oracle 9i release 2 on Windows environment and intel plattform.

this is what error messages show for the error
have u tried again......try locking the table exclusively....
ORA-04021 timeout occurred while waiting to lock object stringstringstringstringstring
Cause: While waiting to lock a library object, a timeout is occurred.
Action: Retry the operation later.
