Hi,

I have been getting ORA-27072 error lately after resizing my tablespace to 1.1GB. I submitted message in Oracle metalink forum and came to know that I need to install a patch for Oracle version 8.0.5.2. But this patch only available for those having support license.
Currently I don't have one. I like to know whether any of you know how to resolve this issue.

The error text

. . exporting table SITE07
EXP-00056: ORACLE error 1115 encountered
ORA-01115: IO error reading block from file 4 (block # 262144)
ORA-01110: data file 4: '/homes/antaeus1/app/oradata/awp1/usr01.dbf'
ORA-27072: skgfdisp: I/O error
SVR4 Error: 25: Inappropriate ioctl for device
Additional information: 262143
. . exporting table SITE08 9809 rows exported

Any help on this will be really appreciated.

Thanks,
Niraikalai

look into the block number being reported ( in your case it is 262144)
now multiply 262144 * your DB_BLOCK_SIZE.
if it is showin less than 2GB, then it is a reported bug.
you have to open an TAR.
