I have installed oracle 8.1.5 on WINDOWS2000 SERVER
,but I can't create a partitioned table, the error message is:feature not enabled:partitioning .In my installing process ,I didn't see the chance to select the partition feature (neither typical nor custom installation).Anyone know how to set the partitioning feature for oracle 8.1.5 please E-mail me.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The partitioning option is available only with the 8i Enterprise Edition. It's there and I installed many times. It is in the begining of the products to install list.

Make sure you have the Enterprise Edition CD-ROM.

Hope that helps,

sir:
thanks for your help!
you are right,my oracle 8.1.5 is a standard edition.I also have a oracle8.1.6 enterprise edition ,it can be installed on WINDOWS2000 SERVER/PENTIUM3 machine and have the partitioning feature .I attempted to installed it on a WINDOWS2000 SERVER /PENTIUM 4 machine many times ,but I failed.Whenever I double_clicked the icon of the setup.exe ,the mouse became a hourglass shape for a while then return to its regular shape of an arrow, and the setup.exe didn't run at all.
what's the matter?
thanks again!

That has something to do with Pentium IV and Oracle 8i. The problem description and the fixes are posted Here
