how do i remove the space taken by temp tablespace. it has grown so fast ina days time and has consumed my full drive. please advice.

One thing you can do is remove the table space and then recreate it pointing to a different drive. Or create a new mountpoint for a larger drive and use it for the temp.

I believe you are using autoextend fuction. If you do not want the TS to grow in that manner, put a limit on the size, like 2 GB.

But before you can do that, you will have to drop tha TS, delete the data file and create a new TS with the limit.
