Dear All,

I have installed Oracle 8i on Windows 2000 Pro. However, during installation, the Universal Installer ask for a username, password and service name. Although I can login using system/manager with that service name, I wonder what is the use of that username and password that I entered during installation? Because I cannot login with that username/password I entered! Also, I have entered 6 chars for password, but the installer shows more that 6 '*' in confirmation screen!

On the other hand, I would like to ask which account is the DBA? And what is the limitation of evaluation version?

When you install oracle, the default passwords are
sys/change_on_install
system/manager
scott/tiger
there is not any other users that you can use and connect unless you create them with conneting priviliges. Also if you are installing on windows world you should be administrator to the server.
Good luck
Helena
