Hi group,

I have a server with NT 4.0 and Oracle 8.1.7 installed, this server has five oracle databases. In the last two day when I try to connect for the first time in the morning to any database I get the error: ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced.

I can't find the reason why this is happening because while some databases are working properly, others aren't and it doesn't happen always to the same database.

Thanks a lot
Luz

Usually means someone did a "shutdown abort" when you were connected. Look at your audit files in ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/audit.

I think your box is running out of mem to allocate to all of the running instances. close down some of them and see if u still get this error!
