can anyone pl tell me the concept and use of tnsping and its syntax. when to use and how to.also tkprof

Hi,
By using the TNSPING utility you can ensure that, whether the server port is communicated through client machine or not, and also it gives you total time to make connection.
TKPROF you can use for see the exact statistics of the trace file, before executing the SQL statement set the SQL_TRACE to TRUE and after execution set the SQL_TRACE false. and then you have to use TKPROF by supplying the trace file and output file.
