Hi alls,
i have Windows 2000 Advance Server, and oracle 8i
after i restart rhe machine database is down and
I have set the oracle service to be started automatically every time when the Advance server is started.
It will show me "Shared Memory Realm does not exists" error if I connect to it. I need to manually startup mount db and open the db . After that, it is working fine. Anybody knows what is the problem?
please help me if posible

Thanks.

this is All beause.. you are not shutting down the db properly.. where as your box not able to allocate the mem which you are requesting through the Oracle..

Good Dba's always shutdown their Databases Manually.. never .. never shutdown the db's automatically through control utility.. and never trust on the control services.. were as they show that they did their job.. but in the back it is not..

So take care of your database.. to maintain the dbs u are there.. not for NT...

Cheers
