OS: Unix HP 11.0
Oracle Version: 8.1.6.3
( Patch applied from 8.1.6.2 to 8.1.6.3 )
For an year of using 8.1.6.2 have not caused any issue and all of sudden about a week back, we are frequently getting this error on the client application, issued by server. Client application uses ODBC ( with persistant connections, no recycle) to talk to ora server. The shadow process on the server start at about 3-4MB per process and stays there for some hours (16-20hrs) then starts creeping up and above to MAXDSIZE (67MB), then the application gets ORA-4030 error and continues.
By shutting down the application and restarting will sustain for couple of hours and gets into the same problem.
By shutting down the ora instance will last for a day then gets into the same problem. Tried increasing MAXDSIZE and Pool size does not help. Any ideas gurus? Any one had this kind of problem ? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Meher.
